It is with a very heavy heart that the Riverside community mourns the loss of Zachary Pettley in GR. 5 as the result of a short illness on Saturday, February 18th. 

Zach  was a kind, positive and hard working, young person who was loved deeply by his family and friends. Zach expressed a love for fishing, swimming and his family pets . Zach enjoyed laughing and sharing silly stories with his classmates. 

Our thoughts are with the Pettley Family at this time.

Along with our Guidance Counsellors and Administrators, members of the Board’s Critical Events Response Team have been consulted to support our students and staff.

In honour of Zach the flags at Riverside and the Waterloo Region District School Board will be flown at half mast this week.
