The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) continues to prioritize accessibility in all that we do. From May 31 to June 6, we are recognizing National AccessAbility Week (NAAW) in Canada.

National AccessAbility Week takes place every year, starting on the last Sunday in May. This is an important time to celebrate and promote the:

  • Valuable contributions and leadership of persons with disabilities in Canada
  • Work of allies, organizations and communities that are removing barriers
  • Ongoing efforts to become a more accessible and disability-inclusive Canada

This year’s National AccessAbility Week theme is “Building a Strong, Accessible Canada.”

WRDSB’s Commitment to Accessibility

The WRDSB prioritizes accessibility and disability inclusion in multiple ways, including:

  • Developing policies, procedures and practices that promote accessibility and inclusion
  • Building accessible learning and working environments
  • Ensuring individual accommodations meet the needs and provide the opportunity for every WRDSB student and employee to achieve success
