Parents, families and caregivers can now register their child(ren) for Kindergarten!

Join us at the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) in September 2026.

At the WRDSB, we are committed to supporting every child from their first day of Kindergarten to graduation. Our schools provide:

• A welcoming, safe, respectful, and nurturing environment
• A strong sense of belonging built through diverse, inclusive experiences
• Play-based learning that supports social-emotionals growth, early literacy, and numeracy

Kindergarten helps establish the foundation for lifelong learning in a caring, student-centred setting.

Who Can Register for Kindergarten?

• Children born in 2022 are eligible for Junior Kindergarten
• Children born in 2021 are eligible for Senior Kindergarten

If your child is already enrolled in Junior Kindergarten, you do not need to register again.

What Information Do I Need to Register My Child for Kindergarten?

After completing the online registration, you will receive an email for an in person appointment. During the appointment, the school will review your student’s original birth document and proof of address.

During the appointment, the school will review the following documents to complete the registration:

• Proof of Address
  • Utility bill
  • Tax bill
  • Property insurance bill
  • Proof of Ontario Property Assessment Notice
  • Purchase/lease agreement
• Proof of Birth (original documents required – digital or paper copies do not meet Ministry requirements)
  • Canadian Birth Certificate
  • Canadian Passport
  • Canadian birth registration
  • Canadian citizenship card
  • Certified statement of live birth (Canada)
• Proof of Custody where applicable
  • Custody orders, court-ordered Guardianship
• Student Immunization Information
  • Submit your child’s immunization information online directly to the Region of Waterloo Public Health.
• Immigration Documents where required
