Dear Parents/ Guardians,

As we come to the end of the year I would like to thank students, parents and staff for their commitment to education during this year of transitions. As we look to the final few weeks of the 2020-21 school year, I want to provide you with direction and expectations to support a smooth close to the school year for your children.

June 24th, 25th and 28th will be asynchronous days to allow staff time to return to the school to prepare students’ belongings for pick up and to be available to meet your child during your child’s pick up and drop off time. Staff are eager to see your children one last time before the summer break begins.

During this outdoor pick up/ drop off time we ask, if possible, your child attends their class designated time. During this time students’ belongings that were left at the school will be returned, report cards will be handed out and students will be required to return any borrowed devices (don’t forget chargers). All devices not returned will be disabled by our IT department. Students will meet their teacher in their designated outdoor line up location. This outdoor line up location is the area that your child’s class lined up to enter the school during the 20/21 school year. Please contact the school office, 519-669-5417, if your child is unable to attend during their class’ designated time.

In cooperation with Public health and the Ministry of Education the following Covid protocol has been developed to keep both students and staff safe during these pick up/drop off times.

  • Prior to arrival complete the Covid Screening https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/ (teachers are required to ask if you have completed the screening)
  • All students, parents and staff will be required to wear a mask while on school property
  • Social distancing will be enforced
  • Class visits are staggered so cohorts do not arrive at the same time
  • Students should not arrive prior to their designated time
  • Students and families will be encouraged to keep their visit short and not linger. We are aware that students and families would love to visit with their friends but we ask that you do not use this time to stay and socialize.
